Thanks to the help of Iain Foxall and Nate VanderEnde at Foxall Associates, we have produced my first limited edition book.

There are only 100 produced, each is hand bound in a grey canvas - imitating the sketchbooks I carry about with me, the cover is hand painted and also signed and numbered on the inside.

The book is now available to buy from Fortnum and Mason, London and is also on exhibition in Unfolding at The Art Shop and Gallery, Abergavenny.

Artist notes on the book:
Observations of Humans is a sketch book I have been carrying with me for years. I'm not a deliberate 'people watcher', I'm not interested in spotting celebrities or fashionable types. I prefer ordinary people, watching the way they interact in their own environment.

I often find myself at one of the many markets in London, where I watch and listen to the traders selling their wares. At Bermondsey antique market I particularly enjoy the slow pace of the event. People stand around drinking tea from polystyrene cups and discuss how much they paid for a broken watch or restored tea pot. At Columbia Road market, the noisy flower-men shout over one another trying to sell a tray of bedding plants for a bargain. I take my sketch book and draw as much as I can, trying to capture these insignificant yet precious moments that make up our daily lives.

The book contains over 100 pages of drawings and notes, observing different individuals, some familiar and others unknown, all of whom have appealed to me and found a way to make me smile.
