Elder son of company founder, Gerry Ettinger, Robert entered the family business in 1980 and in 1995 took over the reins from his father when he became Managing Director. He has spent the last 29 years building the company into an internationally recognised brand whilst maintaining its crucially important UK design and manufacturing base and top quality leather goods and accessories. In this, the company’s 75th anniversary year, Robert has been delighted to announce the launch of an Ettinger e-retailing operation.
All Ettinger products are handcrafted in the UK by Ettinger craftspeople. It takes at least five years to fully train a new Ettinger craftsperson and collectively, they have over 400 years manufacturing experience.
The company prides itself on designing and manufacturing only the very best leather goods and was appointed a Royal Warrant to HRH the Prince of Wales in 1996. This special honour gives Ettinger the right to carry the Prince of Wales cipher of three feathers on all its products and gift boxes.
Ettinger is one of only a handful of British leather goods companies still manufacturing its portfolio of products in the UK and the quality of its goods and attention to detail are paramount to its success.
Ettinger makes a wide range of products and accessories and its portfolio includes over four hundred different items in a variety of different leathers and colour-ways. These include its unique Bridle Hide Collection, for which it uses leather made especially for Ettinger and which has proved as popular today as in the 1930s, to plusher designs like the new Purple Collection with its buttery soft calf leather.
