Grant Macdonald - Silversmiths

Silversmith, Goldsmith and Designer Grant Macdonald established his business some 40 years ago after leaving art school. He runs a large craft based workshop, training through the apprentice scheme and work experience with graduates.

Grant is fully involved in the day to day running of a London based international business. The company exports over 90% of turnover, the company was awarded the Queen’s Award in 2006 for Enterprise in International Trade, the first award made to a silversmithing company.

A great exponent of laser cutting and welding systems, utilising computer controlled casting equipment and rapid prototyping machines shows that by investing in people and equipment, he can blend traditional craftsmanship with state of the art technology.

He works in a time honoured craft that he would wish future generations to discover and excel at.

Grant has eyes wide open to global opportunities and challenges.
