Jane Adam

Jewellery

Jane Adam is well known for her innovative handmade jewellery in anodised aluminium. Her work is sold and exhibited in some fifty galleries in the UK and abroad, and is included in some of the world's major collections, including those of the Victoria and Albert Museum, London, the Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge and the Carnegie Museum of Art in Pittsburgh, USA.

However, stagnation is not an option - for a creative person not to move forward is a contradiction in terms. After a period of reflection, she is exploring new directions and sees exciting new opportunities for her work.

Her aims in participating in the Crafted programme are to think bigger and to be more confident and ambitious; to move beyond her current product range and market; to develop her business around herself as its creative centre; and to improve her work/life balance. She is aware of the danger of developing a 'benchpeg mentality', where her focus is on what is directly in front of her, rather than the bigger picture, and looks forward to being challenged with some new (and maybe scary) ideas on how to approach her creative work and her business.
