Bailey Tomlin - Millinery, Textiles and Jewellery

In 1984, Jean Muir noticed Bridget's first collection of pleated silks and commissioned a collection of headpieces. In 1989, Bailey Tomlin was established, designing and producing millinery for principal department stores, as well as collections for designers. Bridget now designs and makes couture millinery, accessories and jewellery, using a combination of textile and millinery techniques and materials.

Coming at a time when the business is changing direction, Crafted presents a wonderful opportunity to be part of an ambitious and supportive peer network with contacts and experience, and to gain expert advice to plan and implement the following goals:

- Following the design development for Aquascutum and the collection of jewellery for Basia Zarzycka, Bridget aims to design and make pieces for designers who can appreciate her skill and craftsmanship, such as Anna Valentine, Alexander McQueen and Christan Lacroix.

- Like her collection of surreal pieces shown at the V&A, Bridget would like to get work recognised as wearable art, through being showcased by a gallery, and showing at Collect and Sofa USA.

- As well increasing the volume of loyal retail customers, through shows and exhibitions, Bridget would like to create bespoke pieces for stylish mature women of character, such as Helen Mirren, Judi Dench and Joanna Lumley.
